Physical modelling

Permanent facilities for physical modelling are:

A wave flume 45 m long, 2 m height and 1.50 m wide equipped with a random wave generator;

A wave flume 12 m long, 0.30 m height and 0.30 m wide equipped with a random wave generator;

A flume 5 m long, 0.60 m height and 0.10 m wide mainly devoted to teaching activities. The flume is equipped with a pumping station to continuously recycle the water in the flume, and therefore modelling open channel flow. The flume is also equipped with a regular wave generator;

Temporary devices are designed and realized for specific research projects;

Permanent and temporary physical-modelling facilities are equipped with acquisition systems which can be connected to the needed measurement devices (e.g. pressure gauges, water levels gauges, accelerometers);
