Gilles Francfort obtained the “Habilitation à diriger des recherches” at Université Paris 6.  He was Senior Research Scientist at Courant Institute of  New York University. He was winner of the “Prix Thématique Paul Doistau-Emile Blute“, at French Academy of Sciences, jointly with J.-J. Marigo. He is an Editorial Board member of Annales de l’Institut Henri Poincaré (C) Analyse Non Linéaire and of Applied Mathematics Research Express. He was Member of TMR european network: Phase Transitions in Crystalline Solids; Member of Multimat european network: Multi-scale modelling and characterisation for phase transformations in advanced materials (MRTN-CT-2004-505226) and currently Member of ANR: Mouvements d’Interfaces, Calcul et Applications. His research is focused on Homogenization, Dimensional reduction and Defect mechanics.

Pierre Seppecher obtained the “Habilitation à diriger des recherches” at Université de Toulon et du Var.  He is a Member of the  French National Committee for the Mechanical Sciences (a French organism which grants the license permitting the function of university professor, necessary to participate in local/public exams for fixed university positions and to obtain promotions); Member of the Committee for the Scientific Research in his university, he also is an expert of the French National Agency for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (AERES), recently founded in France. He was winner of “Premio Tullio Levi Civita 2010″. His research contributions are in: phenomena of capillarity in fluids; homogenization problems in the theory of non-linear elasticity;  jump and propagation conditions for shock waves in porous media.
